LEGAL PROTECTION OF STATE ASSETS FROM LAND MAFIA PRACTICES: AN ANALYSIS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF CRIMINAL AND AGRARIAN LAW
Land mafia practices in Indonesia have resulted in significant losses of state assets, triggered land disputes, and threatened legal certainty. This study aimed to analyze the legal protection of state assets from land mafia practices from the perspective of criminal and agrarian law. The research method used normative legal research with a statutory approach, a case approach, and a conceptual approach. This study found that the land mafia exploited legal loopholes and weaknesses in land administration to illegally seize state assets. Legal protection of state assets requires comprehensive legal instruments and strict law enforcement. Eradicating land mafia practices necessitates systematic and coordinated efforts among various stakeholders, including the government, law enforcement agencies, and the public. Legal reform, strengthening land administration and criminal law, and increasing public awareness were key factors in protecting state assets from land mafia practices.
